About 2048 Puzzle. 2048 Puzzle is a fun variation of the original 2048 game. Players can enjoy this popular number game in bigger board sizes including 5x5 and 6x6. The game goal is the same. Merge tiles until you create a 2048 tile. The game ends if you run out of space on the board and you can't make any further legal move.

What is it?
So if you are a big lover of different puzzle games, where you can test/improve your thinking and creativity abilities following the game is just for you. Not only it helps to get better, but it also brings a lot of entertainment and joy.

How to play:
2048 Cupcakes is no ordinary puzzle game; unlike others it also includes different cakes and their combination, you see in order to succeed here you will have to move different cakes across the board in such manner that two identical cupcakes should merge into one, it may sound easy at the beginning, but the more units you combine the less space you have for maneuverability. This problem is not so sharp at the early stage of the game, but things quickly change when you combine more complicated cupcakes, if your order on the board is not well organized you will lose the game.

  1. Note: The game on this site is the original version of 2048. Apps for iOS and Android are also available. Other versions are derivatives or fakes, and should be used with caution.
  2. Play Puzzle Game 2048. Use your arrow keys to move the tiles. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one. Try to beat your high score!
  3. 2048 is a cool math and puzzle game that was created in 2014 and quickly became popular around the globe. Inspired by 1024 and Threes!, our free 2048 game is an exciting combination of math and strategy. Can you get a 2048 high score? Play it today online for free! No downloads required! Fun Facts about 2048.

This is a common mistake which newbies often make, also it is good practice to keep your high level combined items in one corner and leave the rest of the board space for low-level item combinations, the more space you have the better, keep that in mind!

Plan your next movement with great care, try to look forward to what consequences you will get and move your tile only after that. You will understand the real depth of this game only after playing it for a couple of times.

Things change quickly:
What I really enjoy about this game is that how complicated it can become from the extremely simple start, each next step requires detailed planning and a long thinking process, that is the only way to earn high scores in this puzzle game, otherwise, you will fail hard.

Controls:
In order to move piles across the board, all you need is arrow buttons, the whole game can be controlled with only those buttons. You can also check at the top of the game window your current score (Kcal); do your best to earn as many points as you can. Remember the more points you have the smarter you are, simple like that.

2048 Dota:
Do you love RPG games? I do, I play Dota 2 very often and my MMR is something like 4.3k, it is not really that much actually, but it is not too low either 🙂 So I was really excited to hear that there is 2048 edition made on motives of Dota 2. At first, I really didn’t expect much from it, I thought it would be some boring looking game with low-quality icons and ugly designs. For some reason, my expectations were really grimy, but I am more than happy to admit that I was wrong. Custom edition of the game actually looked better than the original one, I also loved to see secret shop master on the game banner, it was really cool and hilarious.

I was really excited about this news, I played this edition and it was just awesome. There are all different items in it, starting item is GAUNTLETS OF STRENGTH and you combine it and you get other items from Dota 2. Your main objective is to obtain DIVINE RAPIER, all high level combined items have different special effects as well which makes the game look really cool.

If you are a fan of this game you will really appreciate it, plus the game is free to play! Check it here.

2048 is a single-player sliding tile puzzle game designed by Italian web developer Gabriele Cirulli. The objective of the game is to slide numbered tiles on a grid to combine them to create a tile with the number 2048; however, one can continue to play the game after reaching the goal, creating tiles with larger numbers.[2] It was originally written in JavaScript and CSS over a weekend, and released on 9 March 2014 as free and open-source software subject to the MIT license. There is also a version for the Linux terminal.

2048 has been described as similar to the app Threes released a month earlier.[3] Cirulli, the creator, himself described 2048 as being 'conceptually similar' to Threes.[4][5]

Gameplay[edit]

2048
A completed game of 2048. The 2048 tile can be seen in the bottom-right corner.

2048 is often played on a gray 4×4 grid, with numbered tiles that slide when a player moves them using the four arrow keys.[6] Every turn, a new tile will randomly appear in an empty spot on the board with a value of either 2 or 4.[7] Tiles slide as far as possible in the chosen direction until they are stopped by either another tile or the edge of the grid. If two tiles of the same number collide while moving, they will merge into a tile with the total value of the two tiles that collided.[8][9] The resulting tile cannot merge with another tile again in the same move. Higher-scoring tiles emit a soft glow.[10]

If a move causes three consecutive tiles of the same value to slide together, only the two tiles farthest along the direction of motion will combine. If all four spaces in a row or column are filled with tiles of the same value, a move parallel to that row/column will combine the first two and last two. [11]

A scoreboard on the upper-right keeps track of the user's score. The user's score starts at zero, and is increased whenever two tiles combine, by the value of the new tile.[12] As with many arcade games, the user's best score is shown alongside the current score.

A game of 2048 in progress

The game is won when a tile with a value of 2048 appears on the board, hence the name of the game. After reaching the 2048 tile, players can continue to play (beyond the 2048 tile) to reach higher scores. When the player has no legal moves (there are no empty spaces and no adjacent tiles with the same value), the game ends.[13]

2048

The simple gameplay mechanics (just four directions) allowed it to be used in a promo video for the Myo gesture control armband,[14] and the availability of the code underneath allowed it to be used as a teaching aid for programming;[15] the second-place winner of a coding contest at Matlab Central Exchange was an AI system that would play 2048 on its own.[16]

Development[edit]

2048 doge

19-year-old Cirulli created the game in a single weekend[17] as a test to see if he could program a game from scratch; he was surprised when his game received over 4 million visitors in less than a week,[6] especially since it was just a weekend project.[18] 'It was a way to pass the time', he said.[19] The game is free to play, Cirulli having said that he was unwilling to make money 'from a concept that [he] didn't invent'.[20] He released a free app version of the game for iOS and Android in May 2014.[21]

2048 became a hit, peaking at #44 on the Apple App Store.[22][23] The game has been described by the Wall Street Journal as 'almost like Candy Crush for math geeks',[8] and Business Insider called it 'Threes on steroids'.[1]

Variations[edit]

2048
A 2048 variant played on a terminal using the curses library

As the source code is available, many additions to the original game, including a score leaderboard, an undo feature, and improved touchscreen playability have been written by other people. All are available to the public.[6][15] Spinoffs have been released online, as apps and for the Nintendo 3DS,[24] and include versions with elements from the Doge meme, Doctor Who, Flappy Bird and Tetris; there has also been a 3D version[3] and versions with bigger or smaller grids.[9] Cirulli sees these spinoffs as 'part of the beauty of open source software'[8] and does not object to them 'as long as they add new, creative modifications to the game'.[25] In 2014, an unofficial clone of the game was published in the iOS app store by Ketchapp, monetized with advertising.[26] There has also been a Doctor Who spinoff of the game.[27]

Comparisons to other games[edit]

2048 has been compared to Flappy Bird by several commentators. Both games' success led to clones being created, and both games have been described as viral and addictive.[3][19][28][23][29] When asked if he was concerned that his situation would end up as stressed as that of Nguyễn Hà Đông, the creator of Flappy Bird, Cirulli said that he had 'already gone through that phase' on a smaller scale, and that once he had decided against monetizing 2048, he 'stopped feeling awkward.'[30] It has also been compared to the app Threes. Cirulli, the creator, described 2048 as a clone of an earlier game called 1024.[31]
