What inspired you to become a Troop Leader? My mom was a Troop Leader when I was a little girl, and it has always been a goal of mine to be a Girl Scout Leader. My daughter was only six months old when I became a leader in my town. I love to watch them learn and mature each year. What kind of activities do you do with your troop? Youth Leadership. Troop 5 is a “Scout-run” organization. The Senior Patrol Leader and their Assistant Senior Patrol Leader(s) actively lead the Troop meetings and outings. These youth leaders are elected by the Scouts in the Troop in May of each year. The patrol leaders are also elected by the Troop 5 Scouts.

Troop Leadership Patches

In every Girl Scout troop, two or more leaders work with their girls to plan a progressive series of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, exploring science, getting outdoors, selling cookies, and doing community service projects. Troop leaders are supported by Friends and Family troop volunteers, online training and planning tools, a local team of experienced Girl Scout volunteers, and dedicated staff.
